Connectible Chains

Connectible Chains (by legoatoom) lets you shift-click a chain item between two fence posts or walls to string up a decorative catenary — the chain physically sags between the two points instead of rendering as a straight line. The pack’s config (connectiblechains.toml) sets maxChainRange = 7 blocks and chainHangAmount = 7.0 (lower values mean a bigger droop), plus a render quality = 4 for how many segments the curve is drawn with. It’s a pure decoration mod — fence-and-chain bridges, lamp posts, nautical/dock detailing — with no functional side effects beyond the visual connector and its (togglable) block collision.

How you’ll use it here

Shift-click a chain between two fence posts or walls and it hangs in a sagging catenary instead of a rigid line — ideal for fence-and-chain bridge railings, lamp-post connectors, and nautical/dock detailing on piers. With maxChainRange = 7, keep your anchor posts within 7 blocks of each other, and lean on the natural droop to make barriers and decorative runs look hand-strung rather than snapped-to-grid.

Anticipated questions

How far apart can two chain anchors be? Up to 7 blocks (maxChainRange = 7); beyond that the chain won’t connect.

Does it do anything besides look good? No — it’s pure decoration. The only side effect is the visual connector and its (togglable) block collision; there are no functional/redstone effects.
