Croptopia

Jar: Croptopia-1.20.1-FABRIC-3.0.4.jar (mod id croptopia, by Thonk & Rainbowcraft2). One of the two flagship food mods in this pack, and the bigger of the two by raw item count: the en_us.json lang file carries 611 translatable entries, breaking down to roughly 414 item names and 117 block names. It adds around 45 new crops (artichoke, asparagus, bell pepper, black bean, blackberry, blueberry, broccoli, cabbage, cantaloupe, cauliflower, celery, coffee beans, corn, cranberry, cucumber, currant, eggplant, elderberry, garlic, grape, green bean, green onion, honeydew, hops, kale, kiwi, leek, lettuce, olive, onion, peanut, pineapple, radish, raspberry, rhubarb, rice, rutabaga, saguaro, spinach, squash, strawberry, sweet potato, tomatillo, tomato, turnip, yam, zucchini) each with matching seeds, plus fruit trees that spawn naturally in specific biomes (an internal treeConfig in croptopia_v3.conf maps orange, dragonfruit, and other trees to biome tags from vanilla, BYG, and Terralith).

Beyond raw crops, Croptopia adds a genuine drinks line — juices (grape, orange, apple, cranberry, saguaro, tomato, melon, pineapple) and smoothies (strawberry, banana, kale, “fruit”) — plus salt, which the config can spawn naturally in rivers (generateSaltInWorld). It ships a bundled Patchouli guide book (data/croptopia/patchouli_books/guide/) with entries covering utensils and other systems, giving new players an in-game reference instead of relying on JEI/REI alone. It suggests but doesn’t require patchouli and dehydration as soft dependencies. Croptopia and Farmer’s Delight don’t hard-depend on each other — they’re two independently-developed food overhauls that the modpack runs side by side, giving a much deeper crop roster (Croptopia) feeding into a deeper cooking system (Farmer’s Delight).

How you’ll use it here

Croptopia is your answer to the pack’s very first quest, which asks you to find a fruit or vegetable — with ~45 crops and biome-spawning fruit trees, there’s almost always something edible nearby to grab and hand in. Early game you forage strawberries, tomatoes, corn and the like and drink the juices/smoothies for quick hunger; later you farm them at scale to feed Farmer’s Delight’s cooking pots. Keep the bundled Patchouli guide book handy for what each crop and utensil does. Croptopia grows the ingredients; Farmer’s Delight turns them into the buffed meals that actually matter here.

Anticipated questions

Which mod solves the first quest (find a fruit or vegetable)? Croptopia — its crops and naturally-spawning fruit trees give you the easiest fruit or vegetable to hand in.

Croptopia or Farmer’s Delight — which do I use? Both; they don’t depend on each other. Croptopia is the deep crop roster, Farmer’s Delight is the deeper cooking system those crops feed into.

Where do I find salt? The config can spawn it naturally in rivers (generateSaltInWorld).

How do I make juices and smoothies? Croptopia adds a full juice/smoothie line; generally you craft them at Croptopia’s own utensils, which the bundled guide book documents.
