Tech Reborn

Tech Reborn is a complete, self-contained classic tech tree (power generation, power storage, bulk item storage, tools, and making materials from energy + scrap). See Tech & Automation Mods for how it sits alongside the pack’s other tech mods. Note: Prominence is migrating Industrial Revolution players onto Tech Reborn (see the Industrial Revolution chapter), so this is the recommended “greener pasture” of the older tech trees.

Early game — basic components

  • Rubber — right-click a Tree Tap on the orange spots of a rubber tree to extract sap, then smelt into rubber. Later, combine a Treetap + Drain next to a rubber tree to fully automate sap collection into an inventory below.
  • Refined Iron — the foundation for advanced devices and circuits.
  • Build the Electric Furnace, Alloy Smelter, Compressor (raw materials under pressure), Recycler (any item → scrap via energy), Wire Mill, and Extractor (efficient rubber use).

Mid game — the Industrial machines

  • Industrial Centrifuge — the workhorse: extracts many new resources (tungsten from lava/endstone dust, nickel from raw iron/gold/copper ore, lazurite from lapis, and more).
  • Industrial Blast Furnace — needs cooling; leads into steel/tungsten alloys.
  • Industrial Grinder — higher ore yields, especially using Mercury instead of water.
  • Scrap Boxes — craft from 9 scrap for a random loot box; the Scrapboxinator auto-opens them at 32 E/t.
  • Chemical Reactor, Assembler (cheaper alternate circuit crafts), Vacuum Freezer, Electrolyzer.
  • Add Overclocker Upgrades (−25% time each), Energy Storage Upgrades, and (optionally) Muffler Upgrades.

Power generation

Many options, scaling up: Solid Fuel Generator, Thermal/Lava Generator (16 E/t), Solar Panels (basic 0–3 E/t up to advanced 32–512 E/t), Semi-Fluid Generator (diesel/nitro diesel, 20 E/t), Water/Wind Mills, Gas Generator (methane/hydrogen, 16 E/t), a Lightning Rod (262 kE per bolt — stack iron fences on top for more strikes), and the endgame Fusion Reactor (16 kE/t) fed by Deuterium/Tritium/Helium-3.

Endgame — UU-Matter

UU-Matter (30 kE + 30 scrap each) can be pattern-replicated into almost any material. Feeds into Iridium, Lapotron Crystals, Data Orbs, and the fusion loop.

Notable rewards & tips

  • Wrench — instantly break machines (shift+right-click) and rotate them (right-click).
  • Electric tools — Drill, Chainsaw, Jackhammer, and the Omni-Tool (pick/axe/shovel/sword in one); upgraded versions add 3×3 mining and full-tree felling.
  • Interdimensional SU — an “ender chest for energy”: all of them share one storage pool across dimensions.
  • Transformers are cosmetic now — unlike old Minecraft versions, machines/cables no longer explode from a too-high power tier. Transformers only restrict energy flow.

Machine configuration

Click the wrench icon on the left of any supporting machine’s UI, pick a slot, then a side, to cycle input/output/disabled, with auto-input/output checkboxes to push/pull from adjacent inventories.

Anticipated questions

  • Do cables/machines explode from too much power? No — that was old (1.12) behavior. Transformers now only limit flow.
  • Fastest early power? Solid Fuel or Thermal Generator; scale to Solar/Diesel and eventually Fusion.
  • What’s scrap good for? Scrap Boxes (random loot) and UU-Matter production.
