MC Dungeons Armors
MC Dungeons Armors (mcda, jar mcda-5.0.2.jar, by Chronosacaria/Kluzzio) ports the named armor sets from Minecraft Dungeons into Java as full 4-piece sets (helmet/chestplate/leggings/boots, each with its own name like “Beehive Tasset” or “Grim Pads”), each carrying its own protection/toughness/knockback-resistance/attack/movement stats and an on-wear special effect. The jar’s lang file lists roughly 74 distinct armor sets (Archer’s, Beehive, Beenest, Champion’s, Hero’s, Titan’s Shroud, Dark, Royal Guard, Evocation, Ember, Verdant, Grim, Wither, Guard’s, Curious, Renegade, Shadow Walker, Phantom, Frost Bite, Stalwart, Ghost Kindler, Mystery-color variants, Highland, Frost, Souldancer, Cave Crawler, Thief, Spider, Black Wolf, Fox/Arctic Fox, Opulent, Gilded Glory, Rugged Climbing Gear, Sprout, Living Vines, Golden Piglin, Glow Squid, Nimble Turtle, Troubadour, Teleportation, Unstable, Sturdy Shulker, Gourdian, Cauldron, and more), each with 2-3 lines of in-game lore tooltip text.
On this server (config/mcda/mcda_enable_armors.json5) only a curated subset of the 74 sets is actually enabled — including Wolf, Ocelot, Black Wolf, Souldancer, Hero, Titan, Arctic Fox, Thief, Spider, Entertainer, Sweet Tooth, Turtle, Full Metal, Plate, Opulent, Dark, Beehive, Soul Robe, Fox, Ghostly, Ghost Kindler, Beenest, Champion, and Emerald — while higher-tier or redundant sets (Frost Bite, Purple/Blue/Green/Red Mystery, Shulker, Frost, Highland, Evocation, Stalwart Mail, Goat, Curious, Gourdian, Verdant, Shadow Walker, Phantom, Reinforced Mail, Living Vines, Archer, Squid, Guards, Piglin, Teleportation, Cave Crawler, Cauldron, Wither, Royal, Gilded, Hungry Horror, Golden Piglin, Snow, Battle, Glow Squid, Sprout, Grim, Sturdy Shulker, Mercenary, Renegade, Climbing Gear, Troubadour, Splendid) are turned off. mcda_armor_stats.json5 tunes each set’s exact numbers per-piece — e.g. Hero’s Armor gives 3/6/8/3 protection (boots/legs/chest/head) with 2.0 toughness and +5% attack damage, while the enabled but unarmored-feeling Wolf Armor gives 2/4/5/2 protection with only +2.5% attack damage and no toughness. Each set’s special effect is a real status-effect proc: Beehive/Beenest grant “Buzzy Hive,” Wither Armor applies Withered, Spider Armor grants wall-climbing, Thief Armor grants Invisibility, Shadow Walker/Phantom/Frost Bite negate fall damage or grant Slow Falling, and Titan’s Shroud/Hero’s Armor grant “Hero of the Village” (better villager prices). The full set of 5 mcda-specific enchantments (Bag of Souls, Burning, Chilling, Cowardice, Deflect, Fire Focus, Fire Trail, Food Reserves, Frenzied, Heal Allies, Lucky Explorer, Poison Focus, Potion Barrier, Reckless, Recycler, Snowball, Surprise Gift, Swiftfooted) is enabled, with only Death Barter disabled, and all are also sellable by villagers. In the quest book, several mcda pieces (Dark Armor’s full set, Souldancer Robe, Titan’s Shroud) appear as reward items in the “New Mechanics” chapter.
Anticipated questions
What does this mod add? Named 4-piece armor sets from Minecraft Dungeons (helmet/chestplate/leggings/boots), each with its own protection/toughness/knockback/attack/movement stats and an on-wear special effect. The jar carries ~74 sets; only a curated subset is enabled on this server.
What kind of set effects do they have? Real status-effect procs, not just stats — Thief Armor grants Invisibility, Spider Armor gives wall-climbing, Titan’s Shroud and Hero’s Armor grant “Hero of the Village” (better villager prices), Beehive/Beenest grant “Buzzy Hive,” and Shadow Walker/Phantom/Frost Bite negate fall damage or grant Slow Falling.
Which sets are enabled, and how strong are they? A curated list including Wolf, Hero, Titan, Souldancer, Thief, Spider, Opulent, Dark, Beehive and more; higher-tier or redundant sets are turned off. Numbers are tuned per-piece — Hero’s Armor gives 3/6/8/3 protection with 2.0 toughness and +5% attack, while Wolf Armor is a lighter 2/4/5/2 with +2.5% attack and no toughness.
Where do they fit in gear progression? They’re a mid-game armor path that competes on utility through its set effects rather than raw tier, and every piece still runs through Gear Rarity & Reforging. Several (the Dark set, Souldancer Robe, Titan’s Shroud) are quest-book “New Mechanics” rewards.
