Bosses of Mass Destruction
Bosses of Mass Destruction (BOMD, v1.7.5-1.20.1, by Barribob — still tagged “Beta”) adds four standalone overworld/nether bosses meant to punctuate the mid-to-late game: the Night Lich, the Obsidilith, the Nether Gauntlet, and the Void Blossom. Three of the four are wired directly into this pack’s boss-gating system (boss_level_definitions.json5): the Night Lich is gated at character level 10, the Nether Gauntlet at level 15, and the Obsidilith at level 40 (all soft requirements, not hard-blocked). The Void Blossom sits outside the level-gate list entirely — an optional fourth fight rather than a progression checkpoint.
Per this server’s bosses_of_mass_destruction.json5 config, the four bosses are tuned as: Night Lich — 650 HP, 300 XP on death, fires a slowness-inflicting missile (7 damage, 60-tick slowness), can summon undead-type mobs (zombies, skeletons, drowned, husks, strays, wither skeletons, zoglins, zombie villagers, zombified piglins, even the vanilla Wither) toward a “summon counter,” dropping a Soul Star after 50 counted kills, and can spawn Comets with a 3.0 explosion strength. Obsidilith — the tankiest of the four at 2000 HP, 20 armor, 36 attack, 500 XP, passively heals, spawns an obsidian pillar on death, and its anvil-slam attack has a 4.0 explosion strength. Nether Gauntlet — 900 HP, 8 armor, 16 attack, 500 XP, passively heals, drops Ancient Debris on death, and its charged punch explodes at size 4.0 (1.5x on a normal punch). Void Blossom — 1250 HP, 10 armor, 30 attack, 500 XP, no special death effect configured. The mod also ships supporting projectile/summon entities (Blue Fireball, Soul Star, Spore, Petal Blade) used by these fights.
Because BOMD sits in the same level-gated boss roster as vanilla’s Ender Dragon, AdventureZ’s Blackstone Golem and The Eye, and several other modpack bosses (Souls Weapons’ Accursed Lord/Draugr, Minecells’ Conjunctivius, Archon’s Null, Spellblade Next’s Magus, Eldritch End’s The Faceless, and the pack’s own Hastur Magus finale), it functions as one of several structured checkpoints in the pack’s overall difficulty curve rather than an isolated add-on fight.
