Alloy Forgery
Alloy Forgery (v2.1.2) adds a configurable, data-driven alloy-smelting multiblock that predates needing a full tech tree: rather than a single dedicated machine block, players build a Forge out of common building materials (bricks, stone bricks, deepslate bricks, end stone bricks, polished blackstone, or prismarine bricks) around a matching Forge Controller. Each material choice acts as a distinct Forge “tier” — recipes can require a minimum controller tier, and the in-game tooltip warns players outright with “This recipe requires a Forge Controller of Tier %d” if they’ve under-built. Fuel capacity scales with the structure, and an “Invalid Multiblock Configuration” message flags builds that don’t match the required shape.
Because it’s purely data-driven, Alloy Forgery is mostly a vehicle other mods and modpacks use to add early-access alloy recipes (bronze, electrum, and similar) that don’t require unlocking an entire industrial mod first — a low-investment way to get basic alloys before committing to Tech Reborn, Modern Industrialization, or Industrial Revolution.
Anticipated questions
Q: What does Alloy Forgery do? A: It adds a data-driven alloy-smelting multiblock — a Forge built from common materials around a matching Forge Controller — for smelting alloys.
Q: Where does it sit in progression? A: Early — it’s a low-investment way to get basic alloys (bronze, electrum, and similar) before committing to Tech Reborn, Modern Industrialization, or Industrial Revolution.
Q: Why won’t my recipe work? A: Recipes can require a minimum controller tier; the tooltip warns “This recipe requires a Forge Controller of Tier %d” if you’ve under-built, and “Invalid Multiblock Configuration” flags a wrong shape.
Q: Do different build materials matter? A: Yes — each material (bricks, deepslate/end-stone bricks, blackstone, prismarine, etc.) acts as a distinct Forge tier, and fuel capacity scales with the structure.
