Collectibles 2
A Collector’s Journey — the second collection chapter, this one focused on “trinkets and accessories… gathered and admired.” Where Quest — Collectibles is about fish and crops, this chapter is about Artifact trinkets (the “Things”), music discs, and mob heads. It’s optional side content: you find and hoard the items as you explore, fight, and dig, ticking off the display sets. See Quality-of-Life & UI Mods and FTB Quests.
Walkthrough
- Get Hoardin’. Open the intro quest (“Welcome, young collector…”) to start the collection lines.
- Collect the “Things” (Trinket Artifacts). “You must find the Things and collect them for your own benefit… just refer to them as a Thing, nothing more, nothing less.” These are a large spread of wearable Artifact trinkets, each with a flavor hint in the quest, for example:
- Umbrella — “strong enough to be a shield and indestructible.”
- Dimensional Bag — “basically an ender chest that you can carry around.”
- Owl’s Glasses — a monocle that “enhances the wearer’s vision to even work at night as if they’re in the day.”
- Displacement Tome (“A Book of Teleportation”) — charge it with pearls and save a location to teleport to; it needs crafted displacement pages to write down destinations.
- Portable Ghast scepter — shoot fireballs like a Ghast, “but remember to carry ammunition.”
- Crystallized Hades Fire — makes the wearer “immune to fire and even lava damage.”
- Running Shoes — “press B to run,” which makes your sprint faster.
- Bedrock Tough — makes an item indestructible (“don’t let it touch cacti though”).
- Light as a Rabbit, magnets that “pull in any item,” fall-damage-reducing boots, a mining glove, the Riot Gauntlet, and the joke-tier Whoopee Cushion (“the most legendary artifact”).
- Utility items round it out: the Recall Potion / “Milk Tea” (teleports you to your spawnpoint — “a good way to escape or go home quickly”), a chest key for locking/unlocking chests, and an inside-out “flipped” bucket that acts as an infinite water source but can’t pick anything back up.
- A Gleaming Compound (“Shiny Red Stone”) is a rare material used to craft the more powerful Things.
- Find the Discs. “These records are almost lost to time… find them and listen to what they have to offer.” Two sets: Minecraft Discs (the classic C418 tracks plus Lena Raine’s Otherside/Pigstep and other vanilla records) and Modded Discs (harder-to-find tracks, including a large block of Prominence OST records by SideralisMusic and others).
- Find the Mob Heads. “Finding cool remains is worth showing for display… once you find them and use the brush to dig them out, give your respect.” Get a Brush first, then recover the mob heads for display.
- Grab the “Know Your Thing” guide item if you want an in-game reference for where to gather the Things.
Tips
- Most of this chapter is passive completion — trinkets drop, discs are found, and heads are brushed up as you play other chapters, so treat it as a long-running checklist.
- The Displacement Tome and Recall Potion are genuinely useful travel tools, not just display pieces — the Tome saves named locations (needs displacement pages + pearls), while the Recall Potion is a one-shot trip to your spawnpoint.
- Save Gleaming Compound — it’s flagged as rare and is what the stronger Things are crafted from.
- Mob heads require a brush (archaeology-style), so get one before hunting remains.
Anticipated questions
- What is this chapter collecting? Trinket “Artifacts” (the “Things”), music discs, and mob heads — a display/hoarding chapter rather than a progression one.
- What are the “Things”? Wearable Artifact trinkets, each with a joke-y hint in the quest — ranging from useful (Dimensional Bag, Owl’s Glasses, Crystallized Hades Fire, Displacement Tome) to silly (the Whoopee Cushion).
- How do I get mob heads for the collection? Find the remains and dig them out with a brush, then the head is yours to display.
- What discs are there? Two sets — classic Minecraft records and modded ones, the latter including a big batch of Prominence’s own original soundtrack discs.
- What’s the Gleaming Compound for? It’s a rare material used to craft the more powerful Things.
- Is this required for the main story? No — it’s optional collection/display content you fill in as you play.
