BetterTrims
By Bawnorton — “Gives each armour trim material a unique effect when worn.” Turns AllTheTrims’s cosmetic trim system into a genuine gearing choice: each of ~19 trim materials grants a small always-on passive effect while worn, stacking per matching trim piece on the armor set. This server’s config (bettertrims.json) has every material enabled except Amethyst and Glowstone Dust, with the tuned effect values fully readable:
- Silver — +5% movement speed, +5% jump height, +20% attack damage, +1.5% attack speed, +25% improved vision.
- Nether Brick — Blazes ignore you at 1 piece, Wither Skeletons ignore you at 2, Piglins enrage at 4.
- Platinum — Illagers ignore you at 1 piece.
- Gold — Piglins ignore you at 1 piece (extending the vanilla gold-nugget behavior to armor trims).
- Prismarine Shard — Guardians ignore you at 2 pieces; mining fatigue immunity at 4.
- Diamond — 2.5% flat damage reduction. Netherite — 25% fire resistance. Iron — +5.0 mining speed. Copper — +5% swim speed. Redstone — +10% movement speed. Lapis — +30 enchantability. Emerald — 12.5% villager trade discount.
- Quartz — +5% bonus XP from kills/mining. Coal — furnace speed boost + 5-block hostile-detection radius. Leather — +0.4 step height. Slime Ball — 25% fall damage reduction + 25% extra knockback + bounce. Ender Pearl — 7.5% dodge chance (but water damages the wearer). Chorus Fruit — 25% dodge chance. Fire Charge — extra fire duration on hit. Dragon’s Breath — 1.25x lingering-cloud radius. Echo Shard — reduced sculk-sensor detection range. Enchanted Golden Apple — extended/stronger absorption.
