Deeper and Darker
Deeper and Darker (by Kyanite Mods, mod id deeperdarker, deeperdarker-fabric-1.20-1.3.3-plus-b.jar) is an entirely new dimension called the Otherside, reached by expanding on the vanilla Deep Dark’s sculk theme rather than replacing an existing dimension. It adds four biomes — Deeplands (the hub biome), Blooming Caverns, Echoing Forest, and Overcast Columns — continuing the sculk/warden aesthetic into fully explorable terrain instead of the small pocket biome vanilla offers.
Its mob roster leans into “corrupted deep-sea/sculk horror” themes: the Angler Fish, Sculk Centipede, Sculk Leech, Sculk Snapper, Shattered, Shriek Worm, Sludge, and Stalker all populate the Otherside with escalating threat, alongside dimension-specific boats. Server-side config (config/deeperdarker.json5) exists for tuning generation and mob behavior. As a standalone new dimension rather than an overworld/Nether/End rework, it sits alongside The Bumblezone as one of the pack’s “extra pocket dimensions” rather than a vanilla-dimension overhaul like Better End or Better Nether (BWNCR).

Q: How do I get there? A: It’s reached by building on the vanilla Deep Dark’s sculk theme rather than by replacing an existing dimension — the note doesn’t spell out an exact portal recipe beyond that it continues on from the Deep Dark.
Q: How dangerous is it? A: Very — the Otherside is populated by corrupted sculk-horror mobs (Angler Fish, Sculk Centipede, Sculk Leech, Sculk Snapper, Shattered, Shriek Worm, Sludge, and Stalker) with escalating threat, so gear up first; see Progression & Level Caps.
