Dimensions & How to Reach Them
Prominence II keeps the three vanilla dimensions (overhauled) and adds several new ones, each with its own entry requirement. This note lists every dimension and how you get in. Full mod list in Dimensions & Space Travel Mods. Most of these have their own Quest Book chapter — follow it for exact recipes.
Overhauled vanilla dimensions
- The Nether (overhauled by Better Nether + Pirate’s Doom + Nether Depths Upgrade) — entry unchanged: build a Nether portal frame from obsidian and light it with flint & steel. The vanilla method still works; only the biomes and content are overhauled. (Entry method is general Minecraft knowledge; the pack changes what’s inside, not the door.)
- The End (overhauled by Better End, with Eldritch End and BetterEnd Crashed Ships layered in) — entry is changed by End Remastered. Vanilla eye-of-ender throwing is disabled here. Instead you must collect 17 themed alternate Eyes of Ender, each from a different loot source (desert pyramid, jungle temple, nether bridge, igloo, woodland mansion, buried treasure, mineshaft, wither drop, elder guardian, bastion, pillager outpost, witch drop, etc.), then place them in a stronghold’s End Portal frame by hand. Find the stronghold with Explorer’s Compass (see Finding Structures & Exploration). This is a real scavenger hunt — start collecting eyes early.
New / added dimensions
- The Otherside (Deeper and Darker) — reached from the Deep Dark. Steps (per its quest chapter): kill a Warden to get the Heart of the Deep, find the Otherside portal frame (generates underground in the Overworld), remove all Sculk Veins from the inner frame, then right-click the frame with the Heart of the Deep to light it. A sculk/warden-themed dimension with four biomes (Deeplands, Blooming Caverns, Echoing Forest, Overcast Columns).
- The Bumblezone (The Bumblezone) — a bee-themed pocket dimension. Entry is advancement-gated — the mod itself points you to “check the advancements for how to play.” It is not a build-a-portal-on-day-one dimension; follow the in-game advancements / quest (Bumblezone chapter) for the exact trigger. (Exact entry item flagged as general knowledge — the vault’s grounded source says advancement-gated; confirm via the in-game advancements.)
- Eldritch End biomes (Eldritch End) — the Hasturian Wastes and Primordial Abyss generate within the End dimension (thematically the pack’s namesake). Reach them by getting to the End (above) and exploring — no separate portal.
Space — Ad Astra planets
Ad Astra is a full tech-gated space program (its own “Planets & Space” quest chapter + in-game Astrodux guidebook). You don’t portal to planets — you build and fuel rockets, tiered by material, and need a space suit + oxygen to survive. Progression:
| Destination | Rocket tier | Key requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Moon | Tier 1 (steel) | Steel rocket, space suit, ~6 buckets of fuel; yields Desh |
| Mars | Tier 2 (desh) | Desh rocket; yields Ostrum |
| Venus & Mercury | Tier 3 (ostrum) | Full Netherite space suit (permanent fire resistance) or you burn instantly; yields Calorite |
| Glacio (Proxima Centauri) | Tier 4 (calorite) | Cold but oxygenated; current end of the Ad Astra path |
Getting off the ground needs genuine tech progression for power and material processing first (NASA Workbench, Fuel Refinery, Oxygen Loader). Every planet also has an orbit where you can place a Space Station. Off-world survival needs sealed, oxygen-pressurized rooms — breaching the seal triggers a lethal depressurization vortex. See Ad Astra for the full climb.
Quick reference — entry at a glance
- Nether: obsidian portal + flint & steel (vanilla).
- End: collect 17 alternate Eyes of Ender → stronghold portal (vanilla eye-throwing disabled).
- Otherside: kill Warden → Heart of the Deep → clear sculk veins on underground portal frame → right-click with Heart.
- Bumblezone: advancement-gated — follow the in-game advancements/quest.
- Eldritch End: explore within the End.
- Planets (Moon/Mars/Venus/Mercury/Glacio): build & fuel the right rocket tier + space suit; tech progression required.
Anticipated questions
Why won’t my Eye of Ender do anything? Vanilla eye-throwing is disabled here (End Remastered). You need to collect the 17 alternate eyes from loot and place them in a stronghold’s portal frame by hand.
How do I get to the Otherside? Kill a Warden for the Heart of the Deep, find the Otherside portal frame underground, strip the Sculk Veins off the inner frame, then right-click it with the Heart.
How do I enter the Bumblezone? It’s advancement-gated — the exact trigger is spelled out in the in-game advancements and the Bumblezone quest chapter. It’s not a simple portal you can build immediately.
Do I fly to the Moon or use a portal? You build a rocket (Ad Astra). It requires real tech progression for power and materials, a space suit, and fuel — not a portal.
Is the Nether entry different? No — build and light an obsidian portal as usual. Only the biomes/content are overhauled.
Where’s the “Hasturian” content? The Eldritch End’s Hasturian Wastes biome generates inside the End; the Hasturian Era campaign is a Main Story arc (see Progression & Level Caps).
