Accessories & Enchanting

Don’t sleep on these — they carry real passive power on top of your main gear.

Accessories

  • Jewelry (RPG Series) — rings and necklaces found or crafted from gems mined deep underground, each built to boost a specific archetype (a Mage ring, a Rogue ring, etc.). A real power spike, not just flavor — grab the ring/necklace that matches your build’s Tier guide.
  • Artifacts — powerful, uncraftable trinkets found only while exploring. Rare drops that change how you play, worth detouring for. (Distinct from artifact weapons, below.)
  • Accessories / Accessories Trinkets Compat Layer / Trinkets and Things — the invisible slot system Jewelry and Artifacts actually plug into. You interact with the rings and trinkets themselves, never these mods directly.
  • Charms — craft from 3 of the same Potion for long-lasting potion effects (worn in a trinket/charm slot). They have durability; keep them alive with Unbreaking+Mending, a Hardening Catalyst, or Infusion (learned later in the Enchanting chapter).
  • Transmog — changes how gear looks without touching its stats, so you’re never stuck choosing between “strong” and “looks good.”

Artifact weapons (S’kellak’s Forge)

The endgame weapon system, separate from normal reforging:

  • Unlock the Molten Core after Void’s Invasion Chapter I; it forges powerful soulbound artifact weapons (only usable by the one who forged them).
  • Each artifact is forged from special essences/components (e.g. Frostmourne = Essence of Wrath + Awakened Lichblade + Molten Core). Artifacts in this install include Frostmourne, Fyr’alath, A’zhar, Supernova, Fury of a Thousand Fists, Thunderwrath, Ash’edar, Ekavar, Orion, Vaazkar (shield), Gh’aj (dagger) and Apophis (paladin hammer).
  • Repair/reforge with Encased Remnants; make one unbreakable with a Hardening Catalyst.
  • Upgrade Trees: press N → click the Molten Core icon (top-left). Each artifact has up to 7 nodes with branching paths, unlocked by empowering it with Molten Remnants (quest rewards or crafted from Mythical Essences). See Talent Tree & Fate Talents and the in-game Artifact Reforging chapter.

Enchanting

A deeper, custom enchanting system layered over vanilla — start with an Enchanting Table, but the table now has three bars you manage:

  • Eterna — the table’s level. Higher Eterna = better enchants but higher cost. Your XP level needed is 2× Eterna (30 Eterna = 60 levels).
  • Quanta — randomness/chaos. More = more random results. Don’t max it.
  • Arcana — rarity and number of enchants. High Arcana can block things like Protection or class enchants (e.g. Sunfire), so lower Arcana when you want those.

Building your enchanting setup (progression)

  1. Surround the table with Seashelves and/or Hellshelves — ~15 infused shelves plus a couple of the higher variants gets you to roughly 30 Eterna.
  2. Move up to Echoing/Draconic Endshelves and finally Endshelves (End City materials, Ender Dragon Heads) to reach the top of the scale.
  3. Filter unwanted stats with a Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration; keep Arcana tuned for the enchants you want.
  4. Endgame: an Enchanting Library block stores all your enchants in one place — it’s even AE2-compatible (point a storage bus at it) so you can pull any enchant on demand. See Storage & Inventory Mods / Tech & Automation Mods.

Tomes, curses & tricks

  • Tomes manipulate enchants: Scrapping/Extraction tomes pull enchants off items; gear-specific tomes grant enchants only possible on certain gear. Read them first — some destroy the item you use them on.
  • Anvil enchants: Splitting (split a big enchanted book into its components — a key way to extract just some enchants) and Obliteration.
  • Curses can’t be removed normally — you need a Special Cobweb to strip them.
  • Getting XP levels faster (you’ll need a lot): accessories like the Golden Hook and Superstitious Hat, the Lapis Backpack, and enchants Looting / Scavenger / Soul Devourer / Bag of Souls. Knowledge of the Ages converts items to XP — don’t use it on bosses.

Use JEI/EMI (press U on an item) and the in-game Enchanting quest chapter for exact recipes rather than assuming vanilla rules apply.

Spell Books (for casters)

Casters cast from Spell Books (Spell Engine / the RPG-series class mods):

  • Craft Tier I books at a Spell Binding Table, surrounded by 18 Bookshelves to unlock all four spell slots; the table also attaches spells to books of any tier.
  • A higher tier doesn’t mean stronger — it means obtained differently and harder to master. Tier I: Warrior’s Codex, Rogue Handbook, Archery Manual, Holy Book, Tomes of Arcane/Frost/Fire. Tier II: Paladin/Oath books, Death Knight tomes, Spellblade Techniques. Tier III: Astral Invocations (39 spells, the hardest), the Three Hunters archery books, and Magister’s Knowledge spellblade evolutions.
  • Match your book to your archetype and element.

Common mistakes

  • Maxing Quanta or Arcana. Chaos and over-high Arcana ruin targeted enchanting — lower Arcana for Protection/class enchants.
  • Under-building shelves. You need ~15 infused shelves before the good enchants appear; overshoot on shelf crafting.
  • Using a destructive Tome blind. Read the tome; some consume the item.
  • Trying to scrub a curse in an anvil/grindstone. Only a Special Cobweb removes curses.
  • Ignoring jewelry/charms. They’re a genuine power spike, not decoration.
  • Confusing found “Artifacts” (trinkets) with forged “artifact weapons.” Different systems.

Anticipated questions

What do Eterna, Quanta and Arcana mean? Eterna = table level (XP cost is 2× Eterna); Quanta = randomness (keep it low); Arcana = rarity/number of enchants (lower it for Protection or class enchants like Sunfire).

How do I power up my Enchanting Table? Surround it with Seashelves/Hellshelves (~15 for ~30 Eterna), then Draconic Endshelves/Endshelves for the top end.

How do I remove a curse? Use a Special Cobweb — normal methods won’t work.

How do I take an enchant off one item and put it on another? Use Extraction/Scrapping tomes, or an anvil enchanted with Splitting to break an enchanted book into parts.

What’s the best way to store enchants? An Enchanting Library block — holds everything and works with AE2 via a storage bus.

How do I level up fast for enchanting? Golden Hook, Superstitious Hat, Lapis Backpack, and enchants like Looting/Scavenger/Soul Devourer/Bag of Souls. Avoid Knowledge of the Ages on bosses.

How do I get an artifact weapon? Forge one with the Molten Core at S’kellak’s Forge after Void’s Invasion Chapter I; it’s soulbound to you.

How do I upgrade an artifact? Press N, click the Molten Core icon, and spend Molten Remnants on its up-to-7-node upgrade tree.

How do I make a charm or artifact unbreakable? A Hardening Catalyst (or Unbreaking+Mending, or Infusion for charms).

Do I need 18 bookshelves for spell books? Yes — that’s what a Spell Binding Table needs to unlock all four spell slots.
